Mother Art Cleans Up (installations)

In 1979, Mother Art created an installation in the window of an appliance store in Santa Monica, California, and at a gallery at California State University, Los Angeles, on the theme of cleaning up . Mother Art incorporated personal narratives into these projects.

This was the first time we, as a group, used narratives. We continued to use this form to personalize social and political issues from that point on in our collaborative art practice.
